Instruction for Authors

Submission

All manuscripts should be submitted along with an "Authorship Responsibility Undertaking", signed by all authors of the paper, via the online submission site: https://www.authxpress.com/ijper/login. An original signed copyright form is required to be uploaded on the submission site.

Authors should retain a copy of all materials submitted to the journal; the editor cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to submitted materials. Manuscripts are subjected to peer review to determine their suitability for publication. After review, a manuscript will be returned for revision along with the reviewers’ and/or editor’s comments — the final revised manuscript should be resubmitted within one month of receiving those comments.

Submission of a manuscript implies that the same work has not been published, or is not under consideration for publication, in another journal. Authors reporting in-vivo experiments involving animals or humans should state whether due permission was obtained from the relevant authorities, ethics committee, or institutional review board.

Plagiarism policy

IJPER is committed to publishing original, plagiarism-free work. All submitted articles are screened for plagiarised content (iThenticate) before being sent for peer review.

An article not cleared in the plagiarism analysis, with plagiarised content exceeding 10–15%, will not be considered or will be asked to be revised accordingly; the decision rests with the handling editor. If you already have an iThenticate or Turnitin report, submit it with your manuscript number; otherwise a report can be requested from editor@ijper.org.

A technical-check and iThenticate-screening fee of 500 INR (payable to Rytworks Consultancy) applies irrespective of the article’s eventual decision, and is non-refundable if the article does not clear plagiarism or peer review.

Manuscript preparation

Manuscripts should be typed, double-spaced, in 12pt Times New Roman (fonts restricted to Times New Roman, Symbol and Zapf Dingbats, including within graphics). Titles should be in Title Case.

A research paper should typically follow this order: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if any), References, Tables and/or Figures, Appendices (if necessary), Abbreviations (if necessary).

The Abstract is limited to 250 words in a structured format (Background/Objectives/Materials and Methods/Results/Conclusion). Keywords: no more than six, specific, listed alphabetically.

Figures should be submitted as PNG or JPG at a minimum of 350 dpi at final publication size, numbered consecutively, with lettering in a sans-serif font (minimum 6pt). Images from external sources must have documented permission from the copyright holder; AI-generated figures must be disclosed, naming the tool used.

Page layout and references

Letter portrait, 8.5" × 11.0", 1" margins throughout, no indentation, no tab-based indenting. Title: 14pt Times New Roman, bold, centered. Body text: 12pt Times New Roman, fully justified, 1.5 line spacing. Primary section titles in upper case (e.g. INTRODUCTION, RESULTS); subheadings in title case, unnumbered.

References must strictly follow Vancouver style, cited in the text as superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance. Example (journal article, 6 or fewer authors): "You CH, Lee KY, Chey WY, Menguy R. Electrogastrographic study of patients with unexplained nausea, bloating and vomiting. Gastroenterology 1980;79:311-4." Articles formally accepted but not yet published may be cited as “in press”.

Author’s checklist before submitting proofs

In order to maintain quality and consistency, please complete the following before submitting your final proof:

• A scanned copy of the Author’s Transfer of Copyright, signed by each author, uploaded to the submission site.
• A thorough check of the article for typographic, formatting and grammatical errors — names, affiliations, symbols and equations in particular.
• Graphs and figures supplied in Excel format where applicable, and pictures as high-resolution images (300 dpi).
• A separate page listing the corrections made, sent with the corrected proof and copyright transfer form to editor@ijper.org.
